Farmland values decline, demand also down - Farm Futures: A steady but gradual decline in farmland values continued into the first half of 2016 across the states served by Farm Credit Services of America (FCSAmerica). Iowa has experienced the greatest decline in average farm values – about 20% since the market’s 2013 peak. Nebraska and South Dakota farmland has declined by a more modest 12.5% and 4.8% respectively during the same period.

Precision agriculture enables the modulation of cultural practices and doses inputs (seeds, fertilisers, plant protection products, water) based on the variability of soil and crop requirements.

Currently, 150 000 ha are managed in precision agriculture in France and 50% of crop farms have a tractor with console. One farm out of four is able to modulate its provision of fertilisers and pesticides.

Weekly export sales were released yesterday morning for the week ending July 7th. Corn sales totaled 1,355,620 metric tonnes (667,777 old 687,843 new). That was over the trade estimate of 800,000 - 1,200,000. Sales in the past four weeks have averaged 62% over the five year average.
