10 percent of dairy farms could fail - Key | Radio New Zealand News: Dairy farmers are struggling and Fonterra's latest milk payout forecast of $3.90 per kg has made the outlook even worse.

The forecast is the lowest in a decade and was expected to knock $400 million from farmers' incomes.

Mr Key told Morning Report farmers with high levels of debt were likely to fail.

He did not have exact numbers, but said he had been been told it could be five to 10 percent of farmers.
